About Marquia
August 7, 1993 - September 16, 2016
Marquia Renee' Lewis was born on August 7th, 1993 in St. Louis, MO. The only child born to Gwendolyn Doss. She grew up knowing that she could become anyone she desired to be and could accomplish anything she endeavored. She was raised in a Christian household and continued to live her life according to those values.
Marquia graduated from Hazelwood Central High School - St. Louis, Missouri, in 2011. She studied Computer Science, with a minor in Spanish, at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri. She graduated May 14th, 2016. Marquia had aspired to be a very successful business woman at a Fortune 500 company, post graduation. In her free time she loved to create websites, write poems & blogs, read, and dance. Dance was something she had a passion for. It was a God-given talent that she and others recognized during her junior year in high school. Ever since then she had been dancing all the time. If music was on, she was dancing. She loved all types of dance, with her favorites being praise dance and jazz. She felt like she got the best of both worlds. She got to do something she loved... dance, as well as express her faith and love for God. She also loved bringing out the best in people. She always had a strong desire to uplift others with nice compliments and encouraging words from the bible. She whole-heartedly believed if there was anything someone was going through, a solution was in the bible. During her time at Missouri University of Science & Technology, Marquia became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, Sigma Delta Chapter where she obliged as line captain. She was a very happy, bright, beautiful, compassionate yet strong-willed, optimistic person. She was future-driven, inspiring and a great leader. Marquia loved helping people! Marquia passed away September 16, 2016. |
